Silicon Competence Centre;
the joint crystalline PV research platform

SiCC connects the PV industry research with the Dutch PV research community to form a strong development platform.

We share equipment and workforce in one integrated research line and
work closely together with a hands-on mentality for an optimal exchange of ideas.

SiCC is open for all type of industrial research questions. Expand your knowledge and

The Silicon Competence Centre is a project based initiative funded by the partners and the Dutch TKI Urban Energy programme (RVO and Dutch Ministery of Economic Affairs).

What can SiCC do for you?

  • Integration of your equipment in a top level PV R&D infrastructure, with >500 m2 clean room. Benefit from SiCC’s environmental permits that enable you to test under full operational conditions.
  • Demonstration of the stability of your process technology by making use of the full SiCC R&D infrastructure and processing tools;
  • Performance of customer demo’s for your process step only, or on full device level using the entire SiCC-research line;
  • Being part of a strong consortium that promotes and sells process solutions to the PV industry.

Baselines and upgrades

Stable state-of-the-art baselines for solar cells and modules integrating the SiCC partner tools and processes form the backbone for technology demonstration and further development

Build SiCC

New equipment and infrastructure is needed to enable world-class Dutch silicon PV research

How to join?

The SiCC consortium prepares a new project proposal and is looking for extra partners to join. Are you a PV equipment manufacturer, a system developer or a PV process developer, or are you considering to enter the PV market, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Testing and analysis

SiCC is well equipped for testing and analysis of solar cells and modules.

Reliability and
field testing

Durability and performance of modules can be determined by indoor and outdoor testing in climate chambers and in the field.

Controlled quality achieved through lean manufacturing and SPC principles form the basis for stable processing in the Silicon Competence Centre.
